Fantastic Food Search is where it all started.


With a combined 40 years of working, living and eating in Southeast Asia, we’ve set out to document and share the most exceptional dishes, stalls, restaurants and markets in the region. We do this with help from locally-based cooks, writers, guides and artists – people who speak the languages and know the food. 

 

On our food adventures we’re constantly coming across beautiful, unique and mostly handmade cooking tools, kitchen workwear and other items. Outstanding Market Goods is our effort to bring these products to you.

 

Our goods come from direct collaborations with small-scale artisans, producers and makers. In some cases, we’re simply offering perfect and unique products you might not otherwise be aware of or have access to, while in other cases, we’ve adapted and/or reimagined traditional items.

Austin Bush

Originally from Oregon, Austin Bush has been based in Bangkok, Thailand since 1999. A writer and photographer, Austin has authored more than 30 guidebooks for Lonely Planet, and has contributed food-related words and photos to publications such as Bon Appétit, Saveur, The New York Times, Andy Ricker’s Pok Pok cookbooks, as well his own James Beard Award-nominated cookbook, The Food of Northern Thailand.

Christopher Wise

Christopher Wise grew up skiing and wandering the woods of Vermont. Before pursuing photography he was an art director and graphic designer in New York for 15 years with his own design studio. He has worked as a photographer based in Bangkok, Thailand since 2001. He has photographed for almost every major travel magazine in the world.
